Downtown Hastings Community Garden
Healthy Hastings wants to improve the health of their community by offering people who do not have the space an opportunity to grow their own fresh vegetables. They targeted people who live in the downtown Hastings area, people who have never had an opportunity to have a garden, and children who are interested in learning how to garden.
Downtown Garden Market in Lincoln

The Downtown Garden Market opened in July 2007 as a demonstration worksite market serving the employees within the Nebraska State Office Building and surrounding businesses. Organized in partnership by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) and Health and Human Services (DHHS), the worksite market was organized to increase the availability and convenience of purchasing locally grown produce in a worksite setting.
The Douglas County Healthy Neighborhood Store Project

The Healthy Neighborhood Store project aims to increase the availability and affordability of healthy food options within high need areas of Douglas County by enhancing the nutrition profile of neighborhood stores.
Nebraska Little Voices for Healthy Choices Initiative

The Nebraska Child Care and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Sponsor's Consortium partnered with the Nutrition and Activity for Health Program in the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Nebraska Department of Education to create and implement the Nebraska Little Voices for Healthy Choices Initiative.
Lincoln Public Schools' Cooking With Kids Program
"How did you ever get my kid to try that?" is often the response many impressed parents have to the Lincoln Public School District's Cooking With Kids program. Cooking With Kids is a six-week program that engages kindergarten-5th grade students in the kitchen and helps them develop food preparation skills. Offered before or after school the program blends nutrition education with food and fun.
